My Little Best Friend
Meet Bông, my two-year-old dog and one of my favorite little beings in the world.
If you ask me who is always there for me, Bông would definitely be one of my answers. She cannot speak, give advice, or understand every word I say, but somehow, I still find myself telling her things. Sometimes, I talk to her about my day, my worries, or whatever happens to be on my mind. She might not understand any of it, but she stays beside me anyway.
And honestly, sometimes that is all I need.
My favorite moments with Bông are the simplest ones: when she cuddles beside me, follows me around, or suddenly decides that it is time to play. Even when I am stressed or tired, spending time with her can make an ordinary day feel better. She has a way of making me smile without even trying.
Of course, living with her is not always peaceful. There are playful moments, little distractions, and times when she demands attention right when I am trying to do something else. But those little things have become part of what makes having her so special.
Recently, as I have been thinking more seriously about studying abroad, I have started to realize just how much I will miss her. I imagine coming home after a long day and not seeing her waiting for me, or wanting to tell her something but having to settle for a video call with a dog who probably will not understand why my face is suddenly on a screen.
I know studying abroad will bring exciting opportunities, new experiences, and a completely different chapter of my life. But leaving Bông will be one of the hardest parts of saying goodbye to home.
For now, I want to enjoy every cuddle, every play session, and every ordinary day with her. She may not know how much she means to me, but I hope she feels it every time I hug her.
Some best friends give you advice. Mine gives me cuddles, follows me around, and occasionally makes a mess. And I would not trade her for anything.
